Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood is known for its fine dining, upscale shopping, luxury housing, and….great coffee? While many flock to the Gold Coast for the expensive homes, the one-of-a-kind restaurant scene, or the array of fashionable boutique shops, those who already call the Gold Coast home love this affluent part of downtown for the wide range of quaint cafés and coffee houses that play such a big role in getting each day started.

The 3rd Coast

Know, of course, for the tea, Argo Tea also has quite a variety of delicious coffee drinks. Using 100% Arabian coffee beans, it’s like the website say, Argo Tea’s coffee is so good, our tea is jealous.
Whispers Café
1031 N. State Street
Perhaps offering the best walk-up location for grabbing a cup of coffee to go, Whispers isn’t all about convenience. The coffee here is outstanding and is as good as you’ll find anywhere in Chicago. In addition, there’s really nothing better than sitting outside sipping on your favorite drink and simply enjoying one of the best locations in all of downtown.Â
Starbucks
42 E. Chicago Avenue #1W
Yes, we all know Starbucks, and although they’re a national chain, you can’t deny they have pretty dang good coffee. Not to mention this location is especially convenient for those coming and going from the Chicago CTA Red Line.
