Summer is right around the corner and already things are heating up in Chicago. There’s plenty to do and see in the city this May, from cold brews to highflying adventures.
Kids & Kites Festival- May 7 - Lincoln Park- Cricket Hill
First up, head to Lincoln Park May 7 for the 14th annual Kids and Kites Festival. The event gives those all ages the chance to be a kid again, where you can fly your own kite or even watch kite-flying professionals in action. If you don’t have one yourself you can pick up a free paper kite or buy one from a vendor on site.
Craft Beer Week- May 19-29
Grab a cold one during the 7th Annual Chicago Craft Beer Week, kicking off May 19. The actual ten-day event includes hundreds of vendors, located all across Chicago. It opens, though, at the Garfield Park Conservatory with numerous craft brews on tap.
Memorial Day Parade- May 28 - State Street
Join thousands of friends and family members helping to honor America’s heroes in one of Chicago’s largest annual events. The Memorial Day weekend begins with a wreath laying ceremony on Saturday morning, followed by the Memorial Day Parade at noon. Traditionally parade goers line the entire stretch of State Street from Lake to Van Buren.
