More than 860 new residential units are coming to Lakeshore East. Crews recently broke ground on the new Cirrus and Cascade buildings, which will eventually rise up separately from a shared parking podium and landscaped park, connecting up to the Chicago Lakefront Trail and lower Lake Shore Drive.
The 47-story Cirrus building promises more than 360 condos priced starting in the $400,000s. Meanwhile, the neighboring Cascade building will stand 37-stories high, complete with around 500 rental apartments.
It’s expected the first residents of Cascade will move in sometime in the summer of 2021. New residents should move into Cirrus later that year. Eventually plans also call for a third residential tower on the north side of the property, which for now is being used for construction staging.
The three new buildings are part of the final phase of the much larger Lakeshore East masterplan. The massive development already includes Vista Tower. Currently under construction, Vista is slated to become one of the city’s tallest buildings when complete.
