While Chicago offers a wealth of opportunity for new homebuyers, some of the city’s most prominent buildings continue to command top dollar. In fact, condos or co-ops in certain buildings reign at the top of the list when it comes to the most expensive in Chicago right now.
According to median sales prices over the past few years, a handful of Chicago buildings make the list for the priciest of 2015. As for the top contenders, not surprisingly most reside in the Gold Coast.
At the top of the list is The Ambassador, located in the Gold Coast. This premiere building including condos with a median sales price topping out at $4,176,667 for 2015.
Coming in at number two on the list were the Residences at 900. Also located in the Gold Coast, the building jumped up three places over 2014 with a median sale price of $3.55 million.
Finally, Waldorf Astoria fell from the number one spot it’s held for the past several years to number three for 2015. Even so, the building still maintained a median sale price of $3,462,500.
