Almost everybody enjoys checking out a series of before and after photos, especially when it comes to home improvement projects, new development, or just about anything real estate-related. If you’ve been living here in Chicago the past several years, chances are you’ve noticed tons of development going on, especially right now when over 60 cranes currently dot the city’s rapidly expanding skyline.
In the last 30 to 40 years, Chicago has seen more than its fair share of changes, and the city skyline, which was already impressive back in the late 1970s and early 80s, has expanded to be one of the most broad and recognizable in the entire world. But for many of us who are either too young or didn’t happen to live in Chicago back then, we only know Downtown Chicago as it is today. But as you’ll quickly see below, we’ve come a long way since then, and as the latest building boom continues on into 2017, it won’t long before even the “after” portion of these fun before-and-after photos seem outdated.
