After what seems like forever, it appears development for a new 33-unit condo development in Chicago’s Noble Square neighborhood is set to resume after a construction permit was just issued earlier this month.

Designed by Hanna Architects, the new transit-oriented development is only steps from the busy Division Street Blue Line station, not to mention all the shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife over in nearby Bucktown and Wicker Park.

The project, which is being called Ace on Ashland due to its location where an Ace Hardware store was previously located before being demolished, will also include 25 parking spaces in addition to its 33 condo residences, which is slightly more than the 17 spaces that were initially proposed. Ground level…

Bentham Condos For Sale Chicago Additional details have been unveiled regarding a new condo tower that’s being discussed for the corner of Erie and LaSalle in Chicago’s trendy River North neighborhood. Now being called “The Bentham,” the latest project from Chicago-based Sedgwick Properties could take over the former home of Erie-LaSalle Body Shop, which used to be located over at 146 W. Erie Street prior to moving further west to 1005 W. Huron.

According to reports, The Bentham will eventually stand 15 stories high once completed, offering 31 new luxury condos that feature ample living space, high-end finishes, and of course a highly desirable location within the River North community.

Early indications are that condos for sale at The Bentham will start somewhere close to $1.3…

A unique condo development is in the works for a Lincoln Park parcel that currently features a stand-alone single-family home, as well as roughly six lots of vacant land that now act as a private bird sanctuary.

According to a report from Crain’s Chicago Business, a pair of local developers are looking to build 8 new luxury condos on the parcel, in addition to rehabbing the existing home, which of course would all be situated along a small stretch of Arlington Place right in the heart of Lincoln Park.

An initial rendering has been released of the project, which was designed by Chicago-based architecture firm Booth Hansen. For the most part, the traditional look and feel of the design, as well as the brick and limestone exterior, mesh quite well…

Two potential new condo developments for River North are being proposed that could possibly bring a new 12 story building to Superior Street and another 13 story building to Huron, if approved.

As first reported by Curbed, the Superior project would be developed at 360-366 W. Superior and contain 34 new condos, replacing a pair of low-rise commercial buildings that seem prime for an eventual tear-down. This particular project would be developed by Ascend Real Estate Group and designed by Chicago-based FitzGerald Associates Architects, and an initial rendering has already been released (seen on this page).

The second condo project that’s being discussed would replace an old church at 56 W. Huron and include just 11 ultra high-end condos and ground…

217 N. Jefferson Condos A new condo project that was slated for 217 N. Jefferson is now off the table, according to recent reports from Curbed Chicago. Originally revealed last summer, the stunning new tower, which was designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, was expected to include just 94 new luxury residences, but issues regarding the height and density of the development ultimately killed what would’ve been the newest condo project to hit the rapidly developing Fulton River District.

Despite the original proposal being denied, 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly still left the door open for developing the 217 N. Jefferson site, encouraging developers to re-design a smaller low-rise project that blends in better with the surrounding properties.

The would-be…

It’s hard to argue that townhouses in Chicago are growing in popularity each and every year. Typically more affordable than a traditional detached single-family home, a downtown townhouse sometimes offers just as much living space as a single-family residence, and also lives more like one too, all with one key difference

Despite the convenience and growing popularity, however, town homes for sale in Downtown Chicago aren’t always easy to find, especially during a time when the market is red hot.

Over in the South Loop’s newest luxury townhouse community, Prairie Court, though, plenty of great opportunities are still available as we rapidly approach the busy spring season.

Typically offering floor plans with between 2,432 and 4,048 square feet…
