Buy a Condo at the Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, IllinoisIf you’re looking for a luxury Chicago condo for sale, chances are your search is based on featured amenities like a rooftop deck, on-site gym and pool. But what about an art exhibit? Across the country, high-end residences are attracting buyers by integrating art into public spaces within the buildings. Chicago’s Ritz-Carlton Residences is among the affluent buildings to adopt this trend, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.  This art as residence trend is yet another reason why shoppers are looking for condos for sale in the Ritz-Carlton.

Buy a Condominium in the Ritz-Carlton, Own Some Art

Starting this spring, buyers interested in the Ritz-Carlton purchasing homes for $1 million to $11 million will not only find themselves with a new home, they will acquire a seven-piece collection of artwork. The art is commissioned by Elizabeth “Lee” Kelley Karpowicz and features work from local artists, as well as famed Brazilian artist Vik Muniz. Home buyers will collectively own the pieces displayed in common areas with others in the building and are free to change or sell the items.

The intended goal for the art in Ritz-Carlton common spaces is to evoke a gallery feeling throughout the building. Additionally, as residents will have a say in what art is displayed, it gives them a larger sense of design control.

"It puts us in a niche. We might stage a loft with some of the art. We bring clients to the openings. One of my clients purchased here, and one of the contributing factors to her purchase was that she really liked the changing scene in the lobby," Maura Geils told the publication in reference to a New York building in which on-site art exhibits are featured.
