With its excellent location and burgeoning commercial and residential scene, the South Loop is becoming a much sought after commodity for condo shoppers in Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune recently highlighted one couple’s transition from renters in River North to condo buyers in the South Loop.
"Here, there are lots of parents with strollers and people walking dogs," Bethany Van Solkema, who, along with her husband Alden, landed on a 13th floor condo in the area, told the news source. "River North was great, but it had more tourists and single people. We wanted to buy in a neighborhood where we can stay after we start our family." In addition to living in a historic area that carries with it a friendly, family atmosphere, the Van Solkemas, along with other condo owners in the area, can enjoy an abundance of condo buying opportunities that offer plenty of space.
In the case of the Van Solkemas, their condo has an office and guest room, which they plan on turning into a nursery, according to the news source, but the fact remains that the condo market in the South Loop is filled with spacious opportunities.
And the view? Towering condo buildings in the South Loop offer a breathtaking view of downtown Chicago, reaching as far as the lake. Some of the newest buildings which have been re-positioned by Related Midwest are The Grant at 1201 S. Prairie, Adler Place at 1629 S. Prairie and Harbor View at 1901 S. Calumet.
