Buzz Bait Taqueria, Old Town Chicago

Old Town is one of our favorite neighborhoods in all of downtown Chicago and according to reports, it’s about to get a fun new restaurant from a couple familiar restauranteurs. A joint collaboration between the creative minds behind Lou Malnati’s and Kamehachi—two of the Chicago’s area’s favorite dining spots for decades—the new restaurant space won’t be serving up sushi or pizza, but rather tacos, salsa, and other fun Mexican-inspired fare, with a little seafood mixed in between.

Called Buzz Bait, this dynamic new taqueria will be located at 1529 N. Wells Street, right in the heart of the neighborhood. According to a release, Buzz Bait’s menu will consists of seven taco options, guacamole, elotes, and a few other small items. In addition, five of the…

Velvet Taco Chicago

We’re less than a week away from the much anticipated Gold Coast debut of Velvet Taco—a Texas-based chain that has a unique take on tacos. Slated to open on Monday over at 1110 N. State Street, Chicago will be the first Velvet Taco location outside of Texas, and after just a quick glance at the menu, we’re happy they chose us for their first out-of-state venture.

The new restaurant will be just a few short steps from the infamous Viagra Triangle, and given their late night hours, we’re sure it will be a big hit among the nightlife crowd that fills this lively part of downtown Chicago each and every weekend.

As for what to expect, this isn’t your normal Mexican-inspired taco joint. Instead, plenty of unique offerings will be available here that range…

Although officially making its debut back in early December of 2013, Nico Osteria has been delighting Chicago foodies throughout 2014, and likely for many, many more years to come. Located inside the Thompson Hotel at 1015 N. Rush Street in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, Nico Osteria is an authentic Italian…
