West Loop Construction It doesn’t appear that large-scale development in the West Loop will be slowing down anytime soon, especially as several more major projects get ready to break ground in this rapidly-growing part of the Windy City.

Earlier this spring, developers behind Gr333n, a 19-story office tower at 333 N. Green Street, secured a building permit, and foundation work for the project has already gotten underway. Look for Gr333n to be wrapped up sometime in early 2020, at which point London-based advertising firm WPP will officially open its new Chicago offices.

One of downtown Chicago’s highest-profile residential developments is making some noteworthy changes, according to a recent report out from the Chicago Tribune. Fewer than two years after construction began, the mega South Loop development dubbed Riverline is now being split into two separate projects.

As noted by the Tribune, Australia-based Lendlease is now controlling a 7-acre section of the development site just north of River City, while Chicago-based CMK Cos. will develop the other 8-acre parcel just south of that.

After what seems like forever, it appears development for a new 33-unit condo development in Chicago’s Noble Square neighborhood is set to resume after a construction permit was just issued earlier this month. 

Designed by Hanna Architects, the new transit-oriented development is only steps from the busy Division Street Blue Line station, not to mention all the shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife over in nearby Bucktown and Wicker Park.
