If you’re in the market for luxury new construction on Chicago’s New Eastside, Vista Tower offers plenty of options and opportunities. When finished, Vista Tower will bring with it more than 400 new luxury condos, around 200 hotel rooms, parking and upscale amenities.

While its massive ballroom, on-site restaurants and a full service spa serve up plenty of options, it’s the private residences that promise to deliver a true upscale experience. It’s still possible to find a one-bedroom unit with around 1,000 square feet and a one-car garage for under $1 million.

You’ll also still find some two-bedroom, two-bath units at Vista Tower. With up to around 2,200 square feet of living space, several of these units are priced less than $2 million.

It’s now easier than ever to stay connected when you’re traveling through the City of Chicago. Downtown’s Clark and Lake Station recently added free Wi-Fi availability, and it’s also expanding to include the Jackson, Monroe and Washington Blue Line stations.

The mayor and officials with the CTA claim the newly expanded service is fast enough for commuters to download media as you travel. The new Wi-Fi expansion came about due to an upgrade made about three years ago.

Back in 2015, the CTA introduced 4G wireless service as part of a more than $32 million deal that was funded by wireless providers. At the time, Chicago was the largest city in this part of the world to have full 4G service throughout the city’s entire subway system.

New Chinatown DevelopmentDevelopers have their eye on sites in Chinatown and Pilsen that could mean bringing new life to the area. In one case, a developer aims to turn a vacant old warehouse into a new 200-room hotel and commercial space at the corner of Grove Street and Cermak Road.

Dubbed Hoyt Square, that plan also involves constructing a nearby parking lot and riverwalk. The old building has stood mostly vacant for about ten years, with past proposals and concepts for the site never taking off. Currently only two hotels exist in Chinatown.

Just a couple of blocks away, yet another plan involves constructing a complex of six buildings in East Pilsen. The opportunity includes using mostly vacant land in the area, and transforming it into five buildings filled with more…

Despite some concern from area residents, the commission gave its approval to Lincoln Yards, an ambitious $6 million plan to create a campus of skyscrapers on the North Side. In all, the plan calls for the inclusion of 6,000 new residential units.

The first phase of Lincoln Yards aims to bring new office buildings, parking and retail space to the area. The larger plan also calls for new infrastructure to support the massive complex, including new bridges over the Chicago River.

The proposed development…

An impressive new rental project could be making its way to the northwest corner of Barry and Ashland, replacing a surface parking lot, small playground, and part of a small retail strip that currently occupies the site.

In order for the project to move forward, however, a zoning change will reportedly be required from the city.

As submitted, two different versions of the proposal have been made public, which show a six-story building that include either 65 or 79 apartment units, as well as garage parking for 77 cars, and two retail bays that feature 6,700 square feet of commercial space combined.

According to a report from Curbed, the proposal may be a but too dense given the surrounding area and distance from the “L,” but nothing has been…
