Vista Tower Condos Chicago’s highest-profile condo development under construction has officially reached its half-way point, according to a new report out from Curbed. Earlier in the month, constriction crews poured the concrete slab to the building’s 50th floor, which is just shy of 20 months since the official ground breaking ceremony.

Once finished Vista Tower will reach 1,198 feet high and rise 101 stories above ground. It’ll also be Chicago’s 3rd tallest tower when completed, although that ranking may not last should the super-tall 1,422-foot tower next to the Tribune Tower be built.

Vista Tower was designed by renowned Chicago architect Jeanne Gang in collaboration with bKL Architecture and Hirsch Bedner Associates. The building is slated to include luxury…

The development is officially being called Alta Grand Central and is a joint-collaboration between D2 and Atlanta-based Wood Partners. The sleek glass design, which can be viewed on the construction blog Building Up Chicago, is from Chicago-based

Chicago Housing Market NewsIt’s no secret that the spring season is usually the busiest time of the year for the housing market, and while that certainly isn’t expected to change in 2018, some industry pros feel this year could be one of the most competitive markets we’ve seen in years.

According to recent data from realtor.com®, inventory has been on a downslide for 42 consecutive months, and also already down 8.5% compared to just one year ago. Furthermore, homes are also selling faster all across the country, even as home prices continue to increase. In fact, compared to last February, home prices across the U.S. have already jumped another 10%, and this upward climb isn’t expected to drop anytime soon given buyer demand remains strong heading into the busy season.
